There were no choir uniforms to
iron, no black music folders to organize, nor a repertoire to remember. With a few having reached cultural saturation
point after a very bountiful but beautiful musical year, there was nothing but
mental breathing space at the Esk Bowls club, in which to soak up the
atmosphere along with a tipple or two of something stronger than water and to
reflect on what has been another awesome year as an Esk Choir Member.
All gathered around the tables
decorated on a par with the delicious two-course Christmas tuck-in prepared by
the delightful Bowls Club helping-hands in the kitchen and bar, and with Ruth
Skippen very capably calling the tunes along with some apt Awards, we were just
a Choir family enjoying one last stolen moment in 2021, laughing, singing,
enjoying each other’s company, swapping cards, gifts and hugs for goodbyes and
thankyous as our choir rolls on filling our lives with colour, sparkle, wonderous
moments and memories; one more year together sharing another wonderful Christmas
break-up.
Despite my Award, we are so
grateful for Kathleen’s photos which will ALWAYS speak much louder than my
words.
